About Us

The Michigan Pupil Accounting and Attendance Association was organized in 1935 and has been a consistent figure in child accounting for over 70 years.

With over $13 billion in school funding tied to student enrollment counts, pupil accounting is an increasingly important part of a public school / academy business functions.  And, let's not forget, Single Record Student Database (SRSD) submissions have an impact on Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) as its submissions are responsible for NCLB and Michigan Yes! data such as Graduation / Drop data. Accurate, complete, and timely data submissions are a necessity!

The State of Michigan has generated a number of memos over the past year notifying ISD's, local school districts and PSA's of the potential 5% withholding of State Aid funds if submissions are not accurate and/or not submitted by the established deadlines.  To ensure your pupil accounting personnel are prepared to meet the demands and challenges of accurate pupil accounting, attendance recordkeeping and SRSD submissions, the MPAAA strongly encourages you to register your pupil accounting and attendance personnel for MPAAA membership as well as any one of the three conferences the MPAAA organizes during the school year.  You can find details on membership and conference references within this site.
